Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, Angel's Pet Care is insured and bonded for your safety and peace of mind. Insurance and bonding is through Business Insurers of the Carolinas.
Do I have to meet you before service?
Yes. The initial consultation is free of charge and generally lasts about 30 minutes. You’ll need to have two working house keys available for the sitter at the time of the meeting in preparation of the first visit.
What happens at the free consultation/get acquainted meeting?
The pet sitter will get to meet you and your pets, go over all of your instructions, tour the areas of your home you want the pet sitter to access, and answer all of your questions. Presuming there is mutual agreement that the pet sitter is a good fit to watch your pets, keys will also be collected. Please have 2 fully tested copies of your key available at that time.
What types of animals do you pet sit?
Angel's Pet Care will sit for a wide variety of pets…dogs, cats, birds, chickens, rodents, fish, etc.

Are there any extra charges?
There is a $5/visit and $10/overnight surcharge on major holidays. There is no additional per pet charge so long as care can be completed within the time scheduled.
Why hire a professional pet sitter?
How far in advance do I need to book?
The more notice the better, especially around the holidays and during the summer months. Angel's Pet Care realizes and understands that emergencies happen, so please call regardless of the notice and the pet sitter will do her best to accommodate you.
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?
At Angel's Pet Care, we understand that "life happens" and plans change. There is no penalty for cancelling or rescheduling but we appreciate being notified as soon as possible.
What happens if I will be delayed in returning home?
It is very important that you contact Angel's Pet Care immediately if you will be arriving home late from your trip. Please note there will be a charge for any extra visits.
Why do I have to call Angel's Pet Care when I return home?
The pet sitter will continue to visit your pet until you have confirmed that you have returned home. The sitter will not assume that you arrived home in case your trip was delayed, cancelled or you had an emergency.
Will you charge me for visits if I come home early?
If you return from your trip earlier than planned, you will be given a credit for visits paid for but not made.
Do you pet sit outdoor cats?
Yes, but because of the risk and uncertainty involved, you will be asked to sign a waiver releasing Angel's Pet Care from liability if the cat should be injured or become missing.
Will you visit my pet every other day?
No, Angel's Pet Care requires at least 2 visits per day for dogs and at least one visit per day for all other pets.
What happens if my pet becomes ill or injured while I am away?
The pet sitter will make every effort to contact you and receive your instructions. However, in the case of an emergency, she will not hesitate to take a pet to the veterinarian. Angel's Pet Care is not responsible for costs incurred from veterinary visits. Additional time spent transporting the pet and providing extra care is billed to you upon your return.
What if there is an emergency in my home, unrelated to my pet?
The pet sitter will attempt to contact you first so you’re aware of the situation. Then you can instruct her with how you want her to proceed. If she is unable to reach you, she will contact your emergency contact for instruction and/or she’ll handle the situation to the best of her ability.
Will you provide updates on how my pet is doing while I am away?
A daily update is included in vacation sits, if desired. The update can be via email or text. In addition, the sitter is available to you by cell phone should you have any questions or concerns.
What happens if the pet food runs out while I am away?
Angel's Pet Care will not allow any pet in our care to go without food. If food runs out, an extra fee (in addition to the cost of the food) will be added to your bill.
I have a family member that lives close by and will also visit, is that okay?
If there are friends or family who will be visiting your home while you are away, please notify Angel's Pet Care before you leave on your trip. A waiver of liability will need to be signed in order for your booking to be approved. Also, you will be asked to provide the name of the person, the make of their vehicle and approximate times they will be at or in your home. If the sitter is not aware of anyone having your express permission to be at or in your home, the police will be called and the client will incur any fees charged by this action.
Do you keep client information/key/alarm codes confidential?
Client confidentiality is very important. Angel's Pet Care does not share client information. In addition, all keys are labeled with your pet’s name only, so they cannot be traced to your residence if found or stolen.
How do I go about paying for my pet sitting or dog walking?
Payment via cash or check is due on the first date of service. Please let the pet sitter know where payment will be left prior to your departure. An invoice (via email) will be provided prior to your departure with the amount due.
How long is each visit and at what time?
The standard visits are 30 minutes and they are made within a time frame agreed upon by the pet sitter and the client. Longer and shorter visits are available.
Do you take “last-minute” reservations?
Yes, if you are a current client, the sitter is available and already has your key. Angel's Pet Care will make every effort to accommodate last minute NEW clients, depending on the time and resources available.
Do you administer medication to pets?
Yes, the sitter will administer pills, ointments, drops and certain injections as long as it’s a process you have been doing yourself and your pet is cooperative. The sitter will not administer medication to any difficult animals that pose a danger to her.
Will I always have the same pet sitter or dog walker?
Angel's Pet Care is solely owned and operated by Martha Conrad. As such she will always be your sitter. In the highly unlikely event of an emergency, she has backup sitters available if she is unable to make a scheduled appointment.
What if my property or pet is damaged while I am away?
Angel's Pet Care agrees to provide the services as stated in our service agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. Angel's Pet Care is only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct on the part of the pet sitter. Animals are unpredictable and the sitter cannot accept responsibility for related mishaps (bites, furniture damage, spills, pet stains, etc.). In addition, if your pet has access to the outdoors, Angel's Pet Care is NOT responsible for injury, disappearance or fines.
Can we contact you while we are away? Or will you contact us?
Feel free to instruct your pet sitter to send you an email, text or voice mail on whatever frequency makes you most comfortable. Your peace of mind is important to Angel's Pet Care. You are always welcome to contact the the pet sitter during normal business hours to check in on your pets.
What happens if my pet gets out of the yard?
Please make sure that all pets wear identification tags at all times while under the pet sitter's care. You should also make certain that your backyard and gates are secured while you are away. The pet sitter will be diligent about checking gates upon arrival. If your pet happens to escape, she will contact the necessary agency to alert them of your pet’s disappearance and will contact you immediately.
Do I have to have another consultation every time I leave town?
Once you’ve met your pet sitter she’ll keep your keys so they’re ready for your next trip. Any time you need to schedule services, you can email or use the contact form (available by clicking the Contact Us link on any page of the web site) and the pet sitter will contact you within 24 hours to advise on availability.
